and Chief Executive Officer of Uwharrie
Capital Corp, is pleased to announce that on March
1, 2005, David Gaskin joined Uwharrie Capital Corp as a
Senior Financial Consultant for Strategic
Investment Group and as Vice President of Human Resources
for Uwharrie Capital Corp.
David will use his experience and training in wealth
management to work, within the Strategic Investment Group,
in developing new business relationships and opportunities
in Stanly County and surrounding counties within the Uwharrie
Lakes region. Mr. Gaskin also has 15 years human resources
management experience as both a manager and director within
multi-site manufacturing and sales operations. His industry
experience includes pharmaceutical manufacturing, textile
design and development and commercial construction / real
estate services.
On Mr. Gaskin’s decision to join Uwharrie Capital
Corp, Mr. Dick commented “David’s unique background
and experience in investment and human resource management
will be an important addition to our company and we are
fortunate to have him joining our team.”
David received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Rural
Sociology from NC State University in 1980 and his Bachelor
of Science Degree in Recreation / Leisure Studies from
UNC-Greensboro in 1983. He earned his Masters in Business
Administration from Brenau University in 1997.
David is a 1976 graduate of Albemarle High School. He
and his wife, Teresa, reside in Charlotte and have three
children, Michael, Erin and Amelia. He is the current President
of the Charlotte Art League, serves as a committee member
with Boy Scout Troop 413 and is an active member of his
church. His hobbies include swimming, attending his childrens
sports events, art and stamp collecting, camping and hiking.
